Got a question about the Pro GRT?  Check out the Frequently Asked Questions below.  If you're still confused, feel free to drop Dylan Dean a line at 760-443-3344 or email jdd@dylan-dean.com.

Is the Pro GRT the NORBA Nationals?  or NMBS?

No, the Pro GRT is REPLACING the NORBA Nationals & NMBS.  The "Nationals" haven't truly existed for quite some time.  the NMBS was a replacement for the "Nationals" put on by an promoter that USA Cycling hired.

The Pro GRT is a completely new series.  It will look similar from the outside, but this is a new gravity series organized by people within the gravity racing community, and overseen by USA Cycling.  I'm sure many will still refer to it as the "Nationals".

Is this series for PROs only?

Yes.  For the time being, the Pro GRT is a "Pro Only" series for both MEN & WOMEN racers.  However, that does not mean that amateurs won't be able to race at the events.

Will amateurs be allowed to race?

Yes!  Of course!  We realize that amateurs are the "bread & butter" of the sport.  Without them, we would not exist.  The Pro GRT is a elite series compiled by selecting the premier regional events across the nation.  Within the series, amateurs will be able to participate in the Fluidride Cup, Mountain States Cup, Gravity East Series & more!

Is there a 4X or Dual Slalom series too? or just DH?

Yes, there IS a "Gated" (4X or Dual Slalom) series within the Pro GRT.  However, due to certain requirements set by the Pro GRT committee, not all of the events will be a part of the "Gated" series.  At this time, the Angel Fire, Snowmass, & Windham stops will constitute as the "Gated" series.  At this time, the Port Angeles venue will not have any gated racing.  Whiteface will have a dual slalom race, but it will not be a part of the Pro GRT.

Do I need a USA Cycing License?

Yes.  All Pro GRT events are sanctioned by USA Cycling.  You will be required to have a current USA Cycling license to participate.

What's the PRO prize purse?

To be a part of the Pro GRT, each event must meet a min standard in prize purse or UCI points.  Each event is different in terms of amount of money offered, but will be a substantial amount.   Each location is permitted to distribute the purse as they see if (as long as it meets the minimum required)

Is there an overall title?

Yes, there is an overall title.  The #1 Pro plate leader will be announced at each stop, and the Pro GRT overall winner will be announced at the tour finals.

Are there any throw-outs?

NO.  there will not be any throw-outs this year.  To be included in the overall series standings, racers must participate in all FIVE (5) event locations for downhill, THREE (3) events for gated.

Are there any UCI points?

YES!  There are 3 locations this year that will offer UCI points (for Pros only).  Angel Fire & Snowmass will be UCI Cat. 2 sanctioned events.  Windham will be a UCI Cat. 1 sanctioned event.

Will there be any media coverage?

YES!  There will be media coverage this year! Several media outlets (both print & online) have stated that they will cover select events & the entire series! ...& don't forget PINNEDmtb.com will be the official Pro GRT e-zine!
