It's a new dawn for Gravity MTB racing here in the states. With the demise of both the NORBA National & NMBS series, the Professional MTB Gravity Tour (Pro GRT) is not only taking place of these defunct series, but will be introducing a new platform for what national gravity racing will be based around.

With the cooperation of the Fluidride Cup, the Pro GRT kicked off its 2009 season in the picturesque town of Port Angeles, Washington. With the feel of a secluded mountain-top town, this seaside village had the vibe that true mountain biking was based upon. All the meanwhile minutes from some of the nation’s best mountain bike trails!

Downhill mountain bikers came in droves to attend the nation’s premier gravity race series,… numbers in which have not been seen in years! Riders from North America, New Zealand, Europe and South America all set their sites on one goal – The inaugural Pro GRT victory!

With a feel of a secluded mountain top town, this seaside village was the perfect landscape for true MTB racing! Fun times were had on the hill & back in town!

There were pleanty of big named talent attending the first Pro GRT! Luke Strobel is proof that Americans deserve to have a US national series with their best interests in mind!

Until people saw the pony tail flopping in the back, many spectators thought this was a pretty fast guy! Katie Holden proves that American girls can rip too!

Introducing the first men's winner of the Pro GRT - Curtis Keene. Curtis was on fire all weekend long & deserved the victory & $1000 check!

You didn't have to go far to find a great spot to watch the race. This jump was at the finish... This photo was taken from the Yeti pits (with beer in hand!)

It was rad to see people throw in cash for the fastest qualifier! Curtis Keene snags a cool $160!	Even with limited space, many of your top teams & companies came out to represent & support the Pro GRT!	Ab-ba-ba ba-ba ba-ba -bigail Hippley is reppin' the brand to 4th place!

Kids leave the bikes anywhere... unfortunately when they need them the most, they're nowhere to be found. But that won't hold these riders back! Tyler McCaul still threw some whips with JD Swanguen in tow!	2 days... 2 freakin days... Kieran Bennett was handed this custom painted helmet by Dylan Dean Designs on Saturday morning. Then he crashed & broke the lid in his final run on Sunday afternoon... 2 days!!!	Ryan "Condro"Condrashoff was on fire all weekend!
Mike Haderer is on a solo mission this year, but is riding faster than many factory riders! Mikey is one rider that will benefit from the Pro GRT!	Kathy Pruitt is on a nation-wide roadtrip with here new canine companion. What better way to start her tour by placing 2nd at the Pro GRT!	Boice hauling ass!
Don't F#@ with your mechanic!*	JD Swuangen may have grown up in southern California, but he's handling the dark woods of the pacific norwest like a seasoned veteran!	Luke Strobel getting called out by the local talent!
Standing room only at the NW premiere of 'Days of Dirt'	Pro & amateur riders (zombies) came out to support Theo's new movie ...a few showing who's the #1 videographer out there!	Scott Papola fought the law... & the law sighted him with a $550 ticket for driving recklessly! Watch those burnouts!
