AUGUST 8 XC:

We've tweaked course distances a bit from last year (and have indicated where we've done so.) The best solution would be to run multiple laps on the short course only for all categories, but then we don't get to give you guys the Gov't Trail section. There are a few compromises in there, but we've been able to come up with distances that are probably a bit better tuned in that last year, plus we've added an extra wave for the Pros. Hopefully that'll alleviate some crowding out there. The start and finish will be at the BOTTOM of Fanny Hill this year, right next to the stage. Depending upon the weather we may get a third water station out there as well. On another note, we've removed a huge section of the climb out of the start area previously on the Dawdler Work Road and replaced it with a partly shaded singletrack climb. There will be two aid stations on course. The first will be on the road just above the 4X start, the second will be at the Ullrhauf building at the long loop/short loop intersection.

AUGUST 8 4X:

SUNDAY AUGUST 9 SD:

Super-D riders will use the Village Express Chair, then follow the signage from the top of the chair to the start. The Super-D finish is the same as the DH finish.

SUNDAY AUGUST 9 DH:

Open to all categories, the new "Pro DH" offers a brand new start and finish, several new and reowrked sections plus 600+ more feet of vertical. Riders will access the course via the Snowmass Express 6-pack which is located at the bottom of Fanny Hill towards the new base area. Only racers (SD and DH) and coaches will be allowed on the chair - you need a number plate and lift ticket to ride. No exceptions. There will be no bike traffic allowed on the Burlingame Chair on Saturday (the chair directly below the stage...4X'ers take note!) And once again, miss your start, miss your race. This new policy is really helping us nail results and we thank all of you for your cooperation in getting to your start on time.

LIFT TICKETS

We'll offer a weekend-long pass for just $30. These will be available at registration beginning Friday AM. They are good only for the 6-pack. If you want to ride the Burlingame (TRS, FRI, SUN only) lift you'll need an additional ticket.

DALE'S PALE ALE CLUNKER CRIT

A two-wheeled free-for all. Open to all walks of biking life...so to speak. If 6 DH'ers show up with their rigs we'll make a DH category and line 'em up. Townie category? Yup. SS? Yup. Frankenbike? You betcha. 4X'ers? Oh boy. We'll take all comers and categorize them appropriately. WARNING: Participants in Dale's Pale Ale may encounter beer, marshmallows, silly string, hot-dogs, good-natured heckling, watermelon, large comical hammers, Speedos, afro wigs and any number of other childish/amusing items. By no means is this meant to be a comprehensive list. Helmets are required.
